There was a driver from a coastal city (Matruh) transporting bags of compost. This is a drive of more than 4 hours. The driver is a poor man and took his little son with him. He had to deliver the compost to a farmer who ordered these. Almost at his destination he was passing the farm of Ammar Keylani and asking for directions as he didn’t know the exact location of the farm of the buyer.
Ammar Keylani tried to be helpful but was asking the driver if he could get 15 bags of compost. The driver said that this was not possible as he had to deliver everything to the buyer who paid for the load. Ammar Keylani insisted on his usual way of begging. The driver then said he could have just a few bags. Ammar Keylani was not happy about that as he wanted the compost bags but did not want to pay for them.
The driver asked Ammar Keylani if he could use his toilet. He went to use his compost toilet and left his son behind. When he came back to continue his journey Ammar Keylani accused the driver of raping his wife. The poor man was so surprised by this allegation that he consulted a Bedouin person that also has a farm near Ammar Keylani.
Ammar Keylani went to the police to try to report this attempted rape.
Ammar Keylani started telling others in his network that a man on drugs entered the place and was holding his wife’s hand. He also said he wanted to go to the police but the Bedouin people “begged” him not to do this otherwise the “attacker” would go to jail. And the Bedouin people wanted to solve this between them.
The strange thing of this allegation is that the wife mentioned this “rape attempt” to anyone. Not her family and not her friends who we’ve talked with.
The real story is that the Bedouin neighbor investigated the case on behalf of the community. He talked to the poor man who was with his little boy. He discussed it in the tribe(s) and nobody believed Ammar Keylani as the driver was a poor and honest person and his small boy was with him. The Bedouin neighbor immediately went to the police where he encountered Ammar Keylani. At the police station there was a confrontation where Ammar Keylani was accused of lying.
The Bedouin neighbor strongly told Ammar Keylani to stop lying and cancel his report at the police station. Ammar Keylani became frightened and withdrew his charges.
